Posted: December 24, 2014 in Uncategorized

CQ CQ CQ calling all Amateur Radio Operators,

The FINE group of Hams associated with all things digital in our area has put up a Yaesu System Fusion Repeater! So if Santa Claus happens to bring you a new Yaesu Radio that has that mode or if you already have one, you now have a digital repeater to use in our area.

Frequency:  443.4375 + 5.00 mhz offset. (Digital Mode only)

Location: Spencer Mtn, located near Gastonia, NC at 800 Ft.

Thanks goes out to the Charlotte Digital Radio Group. www.charlottedstar.org  and Roland W9HPX for this repeater.

Here is the official announcement:

Ho Ho Ho.  Just in time for the holidays, Steve, KA4YMY, installed a new Yaesu DR-1X System Fusion repeater today at Spencer Mountain.  Frequency is 443.4375 + 5.0 MHz.  The repeater runs 50W into an antenna at about 800′.  The repeater is open for all to use, but is set to operate in the digital only mode.  Therefore you need a System Fusion radio such as the FT1D HT or the FTM-400DR mobile, set to transmit in the DN digital mode.

If you try it, post your signal reports here so we can all see how it does.

73, and Happy Holidays

Roland W9HPX
